LOL @ Gaile.

Obviously one player's opinion doesn't carry much weight, but that's how I feel about the whole mini pets in towns bit. Fluff. Heck, I'm still waiting for my poor ele's upper lip to get some dev attention, and that was months ago. Not to mention weird graphics issues with armors, etc. Perhaps that would be a worthy area for the devs to look at next.

An update does'nt have to be *for* something. It can be just for Fun. Minipets in towns are FUN. I'm already working on a Lions Arch Grand Prix circuit for guildies to race them in. The LA 500, if you like.

The noises they make I can live without, losing just for fun updates would make the game a much poorer place.

I’m sorry for being upset about this issue, it really seems rather petty. However it’s one of those small things when the majority rules, that’s it. I rather have something that is open to discussion and not slammed on someone’s face because people “boooo!” you and call you a “heretic.” Simply because you do not agree with the others. There was a point into letting something slide that kind of feels like it’s been under you feet for awhile, only to have it swept out by someone else. That’s how I feel.

Whoa Vitis, others, lets keep things on topic here,

I for one am grateful that we have a forum in which we can voice our opinions on game developments/patches and actually be heard directly from someone who works with the staff/designers of the game... Not many companies offer that kind of support and access to their fans

I didn't know the demand for showing mini's in towns was really there, but I can see why it would be the case.
I do think however that people are very touchy when it comes to issues regarding their collectors editions or other somewhat 'exclusive' in-game collectibles though, which is probably whats being expressed here.

I know it's definitely somewhat 'minutiae' of gameplay, but if the question could be asked of the programmers/developers (sound only in explorable/mission areas or a toggle for it), it would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, how could we question your priorities, where the time spent going back to past chapters to put in lipsynching in cutscenes every has seen and now just skips is time much better spent than on the above paragraph?

Who are we to use freedom of expression in the only method we have to give feedback to anet, when our suggestions directly to anet are responded with 'put it in a forum'?
Quoted for Truth!

Yet when you go to the forums and do anything except for kissing ArenaNet's butt, you get your posts deleted, locked, or are just flat out banned most of the time.
Worse yet when you post here like you did, you get totally ignored by the supposed customer relations people like Gaile, as she did in this thread posting all around your post and yet not responding to it.

its ok Alderin, I was more pointing out the ironies than looking for a response. I think it's pretty clear that many more people would rather have it back the way it was than how it is. And I love how Gaile's #1 and #2 options mini poll totally backfired.

oh......I forgot to vote........#2.

Yeah, same here. That charr never failed to cheer me up when it growled occasionally while running from one fight to another. I was pleasantly surprised about the "miniatures in town" fun update earlier, but now I don't feel like using miniatures at all anymore. The charr is mute, even in explorable areas.

Man that just depresses me. Maybe I should do something dramatic like /ragequit from Guild Wars.

  2. You can have a miniature with sound
No negotiating, for purposes of this study. Just a simple 1 or 2.

Honestly, I'd like to know, which would you choose?

Thanks.
So why is it with ArenaNet and Guild Wars that we always have to give something up to get something else? If you add something new you usually take something better away, or nerf or mess with it to the point of ruining it. Why are you so single-minded in making players chouse this or that? If large amounts of people want both things then make it possible for them to have the option for it... why must you always alinate half or more than half of the fans? That's just bad business.

If it takes a programmer hours to make these options, I believe there are better uses for his/her time. However, if this is a minor thing, and can easily be made selectable, or adjustible, we'll do that, I'm sure.
So if it's so much trouble to add or change useless features like this, then why did you do it in the first place when there are still so many major bugs issues, and problems in the game that need attention... as well as so many options that people have actually been wanting for a very long time... like hair stylists, auction houses, the ability to remove pets from Heros, and more.

I vote #2 as well, but yea... I hate how she and ArenaNet are about this stuff and how someone like her is considered a 'good' customer relations person despite it all. She just digs her self in deeper and then flames anyone who calls her on it, like back when Pet DP was added to PvE by mistake and she told me and others off because she swore it was never added or she'd know about it, then it of course ended up with her finally admiting she was wrong.

(Not all, but the majority.) Too often, I've seen people denigrate the Jungle Troll because of his growl, or the Kuunivang because of the whomp/whomp/whomp of the beating wings.

Other mini pets aside...

You (Anet) decide that you can just turn off the sound for a minipet that was purchased as part of a collector's edition? Are you mailing out rebate checks?

Seriously...

It's not a matter of "time" or "effort" for your programmers to sit their asses down and make the pet sound toggle, or just work in outside towns and outposts. Your programmers mess up? Then they should fix it. End of story.

You do realize that Kunnie was not originally included in the CE for Factions? You should feel lucky that they were nice enough to add it when Factions CE was delayed as much as it was.

What has the world come to when people bitch and complain about sound? *goes to drown out the noise of the mindless masses with some liquor*

OH NOES MY PETS DONT HAVE SOUND IM GOING TO RAGEQUIT. How about no. And yes, I'm an evil forum mod who is a complete fanboi of Anet and has nothing better to do with my 40-year-old self than sit in my parents' basement eating Doritos and deleting your posts. Find something that actually matters to complain about, and when you do so, don't flame anyone. Closed.
